Ministries

We have a variety of ministries at Damascus Baptist Church. Ministries are available for seniors, adults and children. Our ministries are designed to disciple others, improve personal growth and to reach our community. Check out the helpful descriptions below. You'll find a ministry that's right for you. All ministries are done on a volunteer basis. Any time you join a ministry you're taking a step toward growing in Christ and reaching others.

Mighty Men of Valor

The purpose of Mighty Men of Valor is to help provide a spiritual foundation for all men of Damascus Baptist Church. This is accomplished through prayer, biblical teachings and personal growth. We are men who exemplify a willingness of service to the needs of the church, men, women, children and community.

Marriage

The purpose of the Marriage Ministry is to foster emotionally healthy marriages, by encouraging married couples to willfully establish and exercise biblical principles in sustaining the marriage covenant. This takes place by married couples participating in informal Bible studies, workshops, retreats and discussions focused in aiding marriages to be victorious in coping with everyday life issues that present natural tendencies for marriages to drift apart.

Youth Ministry

To encourage the Youth of Damascus Baptist Church to engage in the overall mission and vision of our church and being assertive in community involvement, educational advancement and the fellowship of the body of believers to allow for growth, maturation, opportunity and the advancement of the Kingdom.

Sisters of Virtue

To foster inter-generational relationships among Sisters empowering them to model the truths of God's Word, based on Titus 2: 1, 3-5.

Prayer Ministry

The purpose of the Damascus Baptist Church Prayer Ministry is to provide intercession for individuals as prayer partners, through ECCO Fervent Prayer. Our goal is to provide intercession for the Damascus congregation as they continue to mature and develop into the body of Christ that God desires. This means loving and lifting to provide intercession for the pastoral family and leadership of Damascus Baptist Church.

Konnexions- Missions and Evangelism

To make disciples as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ in order to deploy them as agents of change in our church, homes, communities and workplaces through integration with a particular ministry auxiliary. We're making, maturing, multiplying disciples, period!

New Member Assimilation

We welcome new members, providing helpful information, helping them feel at home and bonding them to the church through relationships.

SAGE Ministry- Senior Advice Grounded through Experience; Proverbs 16: 31

SAGE helps to build meaningful, loving and supportive relationships between the elders (age 62 and older) and the younger members of Damascus Baptist Church.

Transportation

The Transportation Ministry makes sure visitors and members have a safe and reliable means of getting to and from any Damascus Baptist Church functions.

Compassionate Hands Health Ministry

Compassionate Hands and Health Ministry increases the awareness of the congregation and community about the link between faith and health (body, mind and Spirit). We'll achieve this through education and practical responses to health needs. We use caring and compassion, while integrating our faith and relationship to God.

Tutorial- The YESS!! Program

Provide academic assistance for elementary, middle and high school students.

Culinary Arts

To provide healthy menu selections to the congregation in order to improve the physical condition of our bodies, by recognizing our body is "the temple of the Holy Spirit."

Usher Ministry

The Usher Ministry meets, greets, serves and always serving Him. Members of the Usher Ministry carry a servant's smile. The ushers will regularly participate in worship services and will assist with literature distribution. They'll welcome, direct and seat guests and others as needed and collect offerings.

Higher Education

Higher Education gives guidance to youth from the 9th to 12th grade and young adults up to the age of 23. They're committed to continuing their higher education.

Audio-Visual

The Audio Visual ministry exists to assist the Pastor with spiritual development of the congregation by capturing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through means of Audio and Visual techniques.

Worship Ministry

Ministry Purpose: The Worship Ministry glorifies God through song, instruments, dance and drama. It teaches all skilled worshipers to operate in the ministry of worship resulting in the hearts of men, women and children being impacted for the cause of Christ. The Worship Ministry includes Sisters of Praise Women's Choir, Angels of Praise (Children's Choir and Praise), Damascus Next Generation and Extended Expressions of Praise.

Ministry Pursuit: To present before attendees and members of Damascus Baptist Church the mechanics and expressions of worship utilizing the gifts and talents of anointed vessels of praise (Psalm 150).

Ministry Plan: To equip and mobilize an army of worshipers who will magnify and exalt the Lord through individual and corporate praise.
