Reverend James P. Broughton, III Senior Pastor
Reverend James P. Broughton, III was born and raised in Oakland, California. He is the son of the late Reverend James P. Broughton Jr. and the late Sister Annie L. Broughton. The Joy and Crown of Reverend Broughton is his lovely wife of 12 years Tammi Michelle (Tucker) Broughton. They have been blessed with three daughters: Dominique, Cymone and their new daughter Anaiah.
In October 1998, Reverend Broughton was licensed to preach the gospel under the leadership of Pastor Horacio S. Jones (Family Bible Fellowship, Newark, CA) and was ordained in April 2003. In November 2005, Reverend Broughton was called to be the third Pastor of Damascus Baptist Church in Seattle, WA.
Reverend Broughton received his theological training from Jessup College (San Jose, CA.) where he received a B.S. degree in Christian Leadership and Theology in 2002. He received a Th.M. in Biblical Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary Northwest in 2005. In addition to the training he receives in service, Reverend Broughton is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry Degree at Bakke Graduate University in Seattle, WA.
Reverend Broughton is the First Vice President of the North Pacific Baptist Convention of the state of Washington and a member of the Northern Puget Sound Baptist Association where he serves as District Moderator.
